Valda Energy [1] is a GB licensed electricity and gas business, supplying gas and electricity to SMEs (Small and medium-sized enterprises) across England, Scotland and Wales

The company is a non-domestic energy supplier competing in the market which was once predominantly occupied by the Big Six (Big Six energy suppliers)

Valda Energy purchases gas and electricity in the wholesale market (wholesaling), including renewable energy sources and sells it on to customers.

It is headquartered in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

Valda Energy began trading in April 2019 [4] [5] [6] as an energy supplier to small and medium-sized commercial properties across England, Scotland and Wales.

Valda Energy is an OFGEM.[7] licensee supplier for both electricity and gas supply.

Valda Energy is a trading name of Valda Energy Group Limited (company number 11852539)[8] and Valda Energy Limited (company number 11212563) [9]

Operations

In January 2020, Valda Energy announced a three-year deal for energy supply from Axpo Holding [10] [11] [12], granting access to the long and short-term commodity market and providing them with electricity and gas.

Valda Energy also sources its electricity from renewable energy sources, supporting UK renewable energy-generating sites through offering a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The company also offers renewable energy certificates and incentive schemes, including: renewable obligation certificates (ROCs), renewable energy guarantees of origin (REGOs) and feed-in-tariffs (FITs)[13].

Valda Energy's published Fuel mix disclosure [14] cites their fuel mix as 100% renewable, compared to the UK average of 37.9% [15]. Fuel mix disclosure must be published annually as required by the Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy or Beis

In February 2020, Valda Energy announced a membership with Regen[16] a not-for-profit centre of energy expertise and market insight, whose mission is to transform the world's energy systems for a zero carbon future. Valda Energy membership listing [17]

In December 2020, Valda Energy announced the launch of SmartChoice[18] [19] [20] [21] [22]. SmartChoice customers manage their account through an app, available on Apple App store [23] and Google Play [24]

In Feb 2021, RingCentral a provider of cloud-based communications and collaboration solutions for businesses published a case study of their work with Valda Energy[25]
