An untitled The Matrix film is an upcoming American science fiction action film written and directed by Drew Goddard. It is the fifth installment in the Matrix film series.

Production

In April 2024, it was announced that a new film in the Matrix film series was in development, with Drew Goddard hired to write and direct the film. Franchise co-creator and previous director Lana Wachowski was announced to be attached as an executive producer. It is unclear if Keanu Reeves would return as Neo for the film.^[1]
