Founded in 2021, Ukraine House is a cultural and community center in Washington, D.C. that promotes Ukrainian heritage, culture, initiatives, and achievements.[1][2]

History

Ukraine House works as a ‘home away from home’ for Ukrainians to help support freedom and democracy in the community. The center works in collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States and other partners. Ukraine House opened its doors on September 1, with an honorable event featuring the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska. [3] Since its inauguration, Ukraine House has hosted over 220 successful events, welcoming more than 25,000 visitors.

In May 2022, Ukraine House became an official partner of United24, an initiative of the President of Ukraine. Since February 2024, the center has begun offering humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians in need in the United States and in Ukraine.

Activities and Events

Ukraine House hosts a variety of events and activities, including events that cover various aspects of Ukrainian culture, and business. The center acts as an anchor for Ukraine-related initiatives with NGOs, think tanks, and universities across the USA. Ukraine House also conducts food events that feature traditional Ukrainian cuisines.

To date, Ukraine House has hosted 24 rotating art exhibitions.[4][5][6]The exhibitions that have taken place include:

The rotating exhibitions provide Ukrainian artists a platform to show appreciation for Ukrainian art and culture among the people. [17][18][19][20] [21]
