Tanner Douglas Knue (born November 26, 1999) is an American professional football wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Eastern Michigan Eagles and was signed by the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2024.
Early life
[edit]Knue was born on November 26, 1999, in Mason, Ohio.[1] He attended William Mason highschool as a comet where he played football and basketball, he caught 21 passes for 352 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 17.2 yards per reception as the team posted a 9-3 record. He was selected second team all-conference and was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year in basketball.[2]
College career
[edit]Knue appeared in no games as a freshman at Eastern Michigan in 2018 , in 2019 Appeared in two games for the Eagles versus Akron and Northern Illinois. In 2020 he earned Academic All-MAC honors. Ranked second on the team with 27 receptions for 413 yards. lead the team with four touchdown catches. Ranked 11th in the MAC in receptions and receiving yards per game. Caught 2 touchdown passes in a 53-42 road win at Western Michigan. Grabbed eight passes for 121 yards, including a season-best 71-yard reception. Added 91 yards on six catches against Central Michigan. Knue was surprised with a scholarship prior to the Toledo game . in 2021 he received another Academic All-MAC selection. He appeared in five games after coming off of an injury. Amassed 342 receiving yards on 32 receptions for one touchdown. Hauled in seven passes for 70 yards at Central Michigan. He recorded career-highs in both receptions (11) and yards (127) versus Ohio .he totaled six receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown in a road win over Toledo. in 2022 he earned another Academic All-MAC selection, Third Team All-MAC,College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree, named Fourth Team All-MAC by Phil Steele, Saw action in 12 games and had 45 receptions for 632 receiving-yards and 9 touchdowns and returned one kick for 7 yards, His nine touchdowns ties for third most in a single season in EMU football history. He also had the first rushing attempts of his collegiate football career with two rushes for 16 yards against Ball State. Set a career-high with two multi-touchdown games in a single season versus Eastern Kentucky and Kent State. he also had one 100+ yard receiving game against Buffalo. during the 2023 season Knue recorded a career high 50 receptions for 479 yards and 3 touchdowns, he also recorded a reception in 35 straight games, which ranked 17th in the nation.

Knue entered the 2024 NFL draft as a wide receiver. After going unselected in the draft on April 28, 2024, he was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. During the 2024 preseason, he record 9 receptions on 13 targets for 86 yards and a 2-yard touchdown pass against the Miami Dolphins from quarterback Kyle Trask. He was released at the final roster cuts on August 27.[4] He signed back with the Buccaneers with the practice squad on October 7th, 2024.
