Background and Education
[edit]Ssentongo Abdulnoor Kyamundu (born on the 23 September 1986) to Hajj Musa Kigundu Kyamundu and Hajjat Nanyonjo Sulaina in kisawula present day Kalungu district formerly Masaka district in central Uganda (Buganda Kingdom). He went to several schools such as Buganda road primary school, Bilal Islamic school bwaise, lutengo primary and lukaya Muslim primary school where he sat primary leaving examinations. He then joined St Lwanga SS kasasa, lutengo SS and makindye SS for 0 and A levels. Later he joined Islamic University in Uganda.[1] for a bachelors of Arts in Education specializing in Economics and History.
Humanitarian and Charity work
[edit]Kyamundu taught in several schools such as Lutengo SS, lugazi mixed SS, Lweru SS and Hanna mixed SS . With his relatives , they started Kyamundu Islamic center, a primary school with an Islamic foundation[2]. He is also a customs clearing and forwarding agent and also had a shot stint in car trade through a company called shurija global investments Inc. He is a farmer and currently aspiring to be the party president of Justice Forum political party[3]
He has sponsored several projects aimed at improving communities such as building schools, boreholes which have enabled many vulnerable students to attain education
Activism and political carrier
[edit]In 2014 , Kyamundu together with other activists started the National Association of the Unemployed NAU, a pressure group that was advocating for the rights of the unemployed youths in Uganda.
Kyamundu has always advocated for a politically stable Uganda . He accused Ugandan government for failing to protect the lives of Ugandans especially those in the northern and western parts of the country[4]
Controversies
[edit]In 2020 , Kyamundu and the secretary general of JEEMA Party advised its members aspiring for different political positions not to pick nomination or expression of interest forms from People Power pressure group, saying the party is running a similar exercise.[5]
In 2019 Kyamindu criticized the Uganda Communications commission for abusing rights of some political players.[6]
In 2018 , Kyamundu apologized to the forum for democratic change party for the bitter exchanges that happened during the Bugiri subcounty byelection which brought the Justice Forum party president Asuman Basalirwa in parliament[7]
