    In February 1064, Alp Arslan went on a campaign to the Caucasus [1] and during this campaign he came to Akhilkelek with his son Melikşah and laid siege to this city,[2][3]After day and night struggles, Alp Arslan conquered the city of Akhalkalaki, which had the most fortified walls in the region[4].
