Shri.Uttamrao Sayaji Dhivar (Sir)

Shri.[1] Uttamrao Sayaji Dhivar (Sir), popularly known as "Dhivar Sir", was an Indian Social Activist, Politician[2] from Ahmednagar[3] District of Maharashtra.[4]

He was honoured with "Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Samaj Bhushan Award/Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Dalit Mitra Puraskar"[5] in 1998 by the hands of Shri. Manohar Joshi[6], Chief Minister of Mahashtra[7] for his tremendous work in upliftting the lives of people from underprivileged and educationally backward society.

Early Life:

On 1st August 1938, Shri.Uttamrao Dhivar was born to Shri. Sayaji Raoji Dhivar & Shrimati. Lakshmi Sayaji Dhivar into a "Dhivar[13]" Family at Kaudgaon Village, Ahmednagar in British India. In the year 1968, Shri.Uttamrao Dhivar was married to Mrs. Sunita Uttamrao Dhivar.

Shri. Uttamrao Dhivar Sir was first in the family and one of those from the entire village to get access for education. He achieved a BSC Degree[14] with specialization in Chemistry[15] from Ahmednagar College[16], Ahmednagar.

Hence, after understanding the need to educate the society and help the backward society to grow, Shri.Uttamrao Dhivar laid the foundations of a "Free Education School Trust[17]" named as Shri.Sant Laxman Maharaj Vidya Mandir in the year 1990 at Kaudgaon Village, Ahmednagar.
