Salmin Kigondo, professionally known as Salmin Swaggz, is a Tanzanian Hip-Hop artist, rapper, and songwriter. He is known for his contributions to Bongo Flava, trap, and drill music. Swaggz gained prominence as a member of the influential Hip-Hop trio OMG Tanzania, before embarking on a successful solo career.

Early Life and Career

Salmin Swaggz began his music journey in 2015, focusing on Swahili rap, commonly referred to as Bongo Flava. In 2016, he joined Switch Music Group and became a member of OMG Tanzania, alongside Young Lunya and Conboi Cannabino. The group played a pivotal role in popularizing trap music in Tanzania.[1]

Solo Career

In 2019, Salmin Swaggz released his debut studio album, Days Before Christmas, which showcased his lyrical prowess and unique sound. His second album, FLIGHT MODE (2022), further established his reputation as a versatile artist, blending catchy melodies with dynamic lyrics.[2]

His breakout single, Day One (featuring Lil Dwin), gained widespread recognition and was followed by notable tracks such as Destiny (featuring Gosby), Don’t Rush (featuring Naomisia), and Flex (featuring AY Masta).

Swaggz has collaborated with prominent Tanzanian artists, including Harmonize, Young Lunya, Marioo, and Country Wizzy, as well as international acts like Kaysha, L Ciano, C-Mart, and Donny Duardo.[3]

Salmin Swaggz is the founder of Swag Music Empire, a record label dedicated to nurturing talent and releasing groundbreaking music. In 2025, the label partnered with Symphonic Distribution, a leading digital music distribution company, to expand its roster and distribute upcoming projects globally.[4]
