Robert Waszkowski is a Polish computer scientist, software engineer, and entrepreneur. He is the Founder and Chairman of TECNA, a company specializing in business process management (BPM) low-code platforms, and the developer of the Aurea BPM system. He also holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Institute of Computer and Information Systems, Faculty of Cybernetics, Military University of Technology in Warsaw.
Career
[edit]Waszkowski has a long association with the Military University of Technology (MUT), where he earned both his Master of Science (MSc) in Information Systems (1993-1998) and his PhD in Software Engineering (2010-2012). He has been an assistant professor at MUT since 1993, contributing to research and teaching in computer science and software engineering. His work at MUT has included developing the Aurea BPM system, which has been implemented in numerous institutions and businesses. He has also led consortium teams on research projects funded by the National Centre for Research and Development, focusing on areas such as electronic document lifecycle management, simulation exercises for the State Sanitary Inspection, and food safety risk management.
In 2007, Waszkowski founded TECNA Ltd. and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, TECNA has developed and implemented the Aurea BPM system, focusing on contract negotiations, project management, system implementations, and offer preparation.
Prior to founding TECNA, Waszkowski served as the IT Solutions Department Director at Support Ltd. (2004-2007), managing a team of 50 employees and overseeing system implementations, including the Carusso system for IFD Capital Pension Fund in Moscow.

Other Activities
[edit]Waszkowski is the President of the Board of the Scientific Association Spread Page Initiative. He is also a lecturer at the postgraduate studies in the Faculty of Mechatronics at the Warsaw University of Technology. He is a member of the Business Process Management Working Group of the Polish National Academy of Sciences and a member of the Program Council of the Polish BPMN Certificate Initiative at the Systems Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is also a member of the International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI).
