Reuth TLV Rehabilation Hospital or Reut Tel Aviv (Hebrew: רעות תל אביב) is a rehabilitation hospital owned by the Reut Association,[1] combining rehabilitation and geriatric services. It is an academic hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Tel Aviv University.[2]

What started as a small nursing home in 1961 has grown into a significant medical center.[3] Back then, nestled in the Yad Eliyahu neighborhood at 2 Sderot HaChayal Street,[4] it was known as the Lichtenstadter Rest Home - a modest facility with just 44 beds, primarily caring for elderly Holocaust survivors and chronic patients.

Today, Reut plays a vital role in helping people rebuild their lives after major health challenges. Their dedicated team works with patients recovering from car accidents, strokes, injuries, surgeries, and amputations, as well as those dealing with chronic and long-term illnesses. Through their work, they help patients regain their independence and return to their daily lives with renewed strength and capability.

Services

[edit]

The hospital has 12 departments, 356 beds, and various clinics, including a day rehabilitation clinic.

The hospital staff includes rehabilitation and geriatric doctors, alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, social workers, rehabilitation psychologists, and nutrition and dietetics specialists.

In 2022, the hospital achieved a score of 10 in the Israeli Ministry of Health's quality report.

Starting in 2024, a new rehabilitation campus is planned to be built on land allocated to Reut by the Tel Aviv Municipality at the site of the former Sde Dov Airport.[5][6] The new campus will include a new hospital building and a new building for Reut’s community housing. Alongside the inpatient services, the hospital building will also include an outpatient facility, a hydrotherapy pool, a medical imaging center, a research and development incubator, a sports medicine center, a hyperbaric chamber, and commercial spaces. The basement level will serve as a parking garage on regular days and as an inpatient ward during emergencies.[7]
