Early Life & Education

[edit]

Camilleri grew up in Malta and participated in the Young Enterprise competition, where she co-founded an arts management startup. The initiative received the Microsoft Social Enterprise of the Year Award and HSBC Company of the Year recognition. It was later sponsored by Vodafone and featured in Maltese media. As a result of these achievements, she was invited by the President of Malta in recognition of her contributions to the national arts industry. In 2014, she relocated to London to pursue further education and career opportunities.

She attended the British & Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM), where she earned a first-class degree in Music Business. [3] [4] [5] [6]

Career

[edit]

Camilleri began her career at Warner Music Group, working on releases by artists such as David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, Disciples, and Justin Bieber. She has also worked at Glastonbury Music Festival and Believe. [7]

In her A&R career, Camilleri has scouted and signed artists including Ayelle (Universal Music Publishing), 3 x Platinum Scouting for Girls, James Vickery (featured on Disclosure’s "Flow" and later appeared on YouTube Channel Colors), Peter Sandberg, and Cat Burns, who achieved a UK Top 10 chart position.[8][9]

Public Speaking & Industry Involvement

[edit]

Camilleri has spoken at music industry events such as Sonic Visions, The Great Escape Festival, Urban Development, and Roundhouse workshops. [10][11][12][13] She has also lectured at University of West London's London College of Music[14]

She was named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and served as a judge for the 2024 Youth Music Awards. [15]

Activism

[edit]

In 2019, Camilleri initiated a petition on Change.org and Twitter in support of Rahaf Mohammed, a young woman seeking asylum. The petition gathered over 98,000 signatures and was covered by TIME Magazine and The Independent. Mohammed was ultimately granted refugee status in Canada.[16][17]
