Mudita is a Polish mindful technology company founded in 2013[1] by Michał Kicinski (co-founder of CD Projekt). Mudita's most notable product is the Mudita Pure[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] an E ink feature phone[10] with one of the lowest electromagnetic radiation (SAR) levels for a cellphone[11][12][13]. It was designed to be a simple smartphone alternative to assist with managing modern day information overload.[14] Before its official release in late 2021, the phone was featured on the BBC World Business Report.[15] Its successor, the Mudita Kompakt,[16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23] is slated to become the company’s next flagship phone, featuring MuditaOS K, a streamlined operating system based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).[24][25]
Additionally, Mudita has introduced minimalist products such as the Moment[26][27] and Element watches,[28] along with their Bell and Harmony alarm clocks.[29][30] The Mudita Moment received the prestigious Red Dot Award: Product Design Award in 2023.[31]
Philosophy and Mission
[edit]Mudita derives its name from the Buddhist concept of "sympathetic joy," embodying happiness in others' wellbeing. The company's mission is to promote mindfulness and balance in the digital age.[32] By stripping away unnecessary features from everyday technology, Mudita aims to help users reconnect with the present moment and foster healthier relationships with devices.[33]
