Mohamed Ahmad Chahrour[1] (Arabic: محمد أحمد شحرور, Muḥammad Aḥmad Šaḥrūr;

Lebanese Arabic pronunciation: [mʊˈħɑmmɑd ˈɑħmɑd ʃɑħˈruːr] born May 15, 1993, in Berlin[2]) is a Lebanese actor, composer and music producer.[3][4]

Life

Mohamed Chahrour was born as the sixth of eight children to a Lebanese family. His parents fled the Lebanese Civil War to West Berlin in the mid-1980s.[5][6]

Career

Chahrour co-produced the song "Heavyweight" with GEE Futuristic, featured on the 2018 release Hoodtape 3 from Kollegah's album Monument.[7][8] In this year he also produced the Song “Scarecrow” on MC Bogy’s Album “100%”[9]

In 2021, Chahrour co-created the podcast Clanland – Schrecklich nette Familiengeschichten with journalist Marcus Staiger. Produced by RBB, the series explores stereotypes about Arab clans in Germany through personal narratives. [10][11] Süddeutsche Zeitung described it as “an alternative oral history that counteracts sensationalist stereotypes about Arab extended families with humor.”[12] The podcast was nominated for the 2021 German Radio Award for Best Podcast.[13]

In 2022, Chahrour published the book "Dakhil - Inside Arabische Clans", which he co-authored with Marcus Staiger.[14] It was published by the rapper Raf Camora's publishing house, GHØST.[15][16]

He has appeared in several films and television series. Like Amazon Prime Video‘s The Assassin[17] and he is among the cast of Wes Anderson’s upcoming film The Phoenician Scheme.[18]

  • Winner of the Alternative Medienpreis.[20]
