Linh Thi Xuan Phan is a computer scientist known for her work in real-time, embedded, and cyber-physical systems.[1] She is a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania, in the Department for Computer and Information Science.[2]

Biography

Phan attended the High School for the Gifted in Ho Chi Minh City and then started to study computer science at the HCM University of Natural Sciences.[3] In 1999, she won the highly competitive Singapore Scholarship and transferred to the National University of Singapore.[4] After earning a B.Comp. with Honors in 2003, Phan continued at NUS for graduate school, working with P S Thiagarajan and Samarjit Chakraborty; she also spent some time in Lothar Thiele's group at ETH Zurich.[3] In 2009, she graduated with a Ph.D. from NUS, winning the Dean's Graduate Research Excellence Award for her thesis work.[5] She then started a postdoc at the University of Pennsylvania in Insup Lee's group.[4] In 2012, she joined the faculty at Penn as an Assistant Professor; she was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2019.

Phan has won several Best Paper awards for her work.[4] She also received the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching,[6] as well as an NSF CAREER award.[1]
