The Kees Eijrond Foundation (Portuguese: Fundação Kees Eijrond, Dutch: Kees Eijrond Fonds), commonly referred to simply as KEF, is a cultural foundation created by Dutch businessman and philanthropist Kees Eijrond[1][2] with the aim of supporting artistic creation in its most varied expressions, such as Theater, Dance, Literature, Music, Visual Arts, Cinema, Architecture, and Ecological and Landscape Heritage.[3]
Founded in the 1990s in Utrecht, Netherlands, in 2023 it gained permanent representation in Portugal. It is currently headquartered at Verride Santa Catarina Palace, in Lisbon. Its activities are centered in the Netherlands and Portugal. The Board of Directors is made up of Dutch and Portuguese members and is headed by Kees Eijrond.[3]
In 2023, it was announced that the Kees Eijrond Foundation was the promoter and one of the financial supporters of the Salavisa European Dance Award (SEDA) targeting artists from all around the world who demonstrate talent or special qualities that deserve to be better known beyond their national borders. The award is managed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.[4][5]
Since 2023, the Executive Director of the Kees Eijrond Foundation in Portugal is Mirna Queiroz.
