Professor Catherine ("Kate") Gilliver is a British classicist and archaeologist specializing in Roman military history at Cardiff University.

Academic Background

Gilliver completed her BA in Classics and Classical Archaeology at King's College London in 1988 and her PhD from the Institute of Archaeology, University College London in 1993.[1]

Gilliver was a Rome Scholar at the British School at Rome before becoming a lecturer at Cardiff University in 1993.[1]

Gilliver has appeared in a number of television programs, including Ancient Technology (National Geographic, 2006), War Women (Mercury Studios, 2003), Naked Science (National Geographic, 2006), and The Roman Invasion of Britain (History Channel, 2009).[1]
