Kamaka Air Flight 689 was a training flight from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport to Lanai Airport, both in Honolulu. On December 17, 2024, the plane crashed into an abandoned building shortly after takeoff from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Both pilots were killed. The crash was also caught on camera

The aircraft was, at the time a 13 year-old Cessna 208B Grand Caravan with manufacturer serial number 208B2308. The aircraft was also powered by a P&W Canada PT6A-114A engine.

Accident

The aircraft took off from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport for a training flight to Lanai Airport. The aircraft then banked, it's left wing impacted an air conditioner of the abandoned building's roof, crashed and burst into flames. Both pilots were killed. The NTSB is investigating the crash.
