Otec Jakov was born on November 23, 1983 in Kumanovo, Republic of North Macedonia.
He came as a novice at the monastery “Saint Anthony and Saint George, the Holy and Great Martyr,” in Novo Selo, on the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in 2004.
In 2005, on the Feast of the Entrance of the Most Holy Mother of God to the Temple he was ordained a monk by the Metropolitan of Strumica Naum at the monastery of the Most Holy Mother of God Eleousa, in Veljusa, Strumica; the same year, August 28, on the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, he was ordained in the rank of hierodeacon by the Metropolitan of Strumica Naum in the monastery church “The Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God and Saint Leontius,” in Vodocha, Strumica.
On August 22, 2010, he was ordained in the rank of hieromonk by the Metropolitan of Europe Pimen at Vodocha Monastery. He was made an abbot on November 5, 2012, in Vodocha. From 2010 until today he is the abbot of the monastery brotherhood of the monastery “Saint Anthony and Saint George, the Holy and Great Martyr" in Novo Selo.
On December 13, 2016, he was given the rank of archimandrite, and on January 19, 2017, he received the rank of archimandrite in the church “St. Gregory Palamas and St. Demetrius of Thessalonica,” in Strumica.
On September 29, 2018, the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Archdiocese of Ohrid made a decision to elect him as a bishop of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Archdiocese of Ohrid. He was ordained as Vicar Bishop of Metropolitan Strumica Naum on November 25, 2018, at Vodocha Monastery, with the title Vicar Bishop of Polyana.
The title he bears today is Vicar Bishop of Stobi.
Education
[edit]Graduated at the Faculty of Theology in Skopje, in 2018.
Enrolled in PhD studies at Faculty of Theology in Belgrade, in 2023.
Notable work
[edit]Since 2018 he has been the editor-in-chief of the Orthodox magazine “Premin”.
Since 2021 the Orthodox website “Tiveriopol.mk” has been operating under his leadership.
In 2022 the humanitarian foundation “Eleusa” was founded with his efforts.[1]
