Ibrahim Nawaf Ibrahim Joharji is a Saudi architect, born in Mecca on December 21 , 1983,[1] .He studied architecture and obtained a Master's degree in Engineering Project Management from Umm Al-Qura University in 2006[2].Despite his young age and recentness in the field of architecture, Since he started his architectural journey in 2008[3],he has significantly contributed to the evolution of contemporary architecture in Saudi Arabia[4] . he has done many important governmental, commercial and residential projects[5][6].Perhaps the most prominent is the design and construction of helipads across Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior.[7] He has won several international awards,[8] as he has won 3 awards in prestigious international architectural competitions, organized by the Italian (YAC) within the jury that includes the most powerful names of designers and architectural offices, such as Zaha Hadid, BIG and 3XN.[9] he also has many research papers and publications in the field of architecture[10] .

  • A paper proposing an improvement in the Tawaf movement in the Holy Mosque to increase efficiency and speed by 2%, facilitating rituals for pilgrims.[15]
  • Research presenting innovative methods to reduce carbon emissions in rock cutting by adopting alternatives to blasting and outdated mechanical tools.[16]
  • A study proposing strategies to preserve the architectural heritage of Jeddah Al-Balad while incorporating sustainable and modern development methods.[17]
  • A study analyzing the impact of luxury architecture on physical and mental well-being, highlighting its role in enhancing quality and longevity of life.[18]

  • Among notable international projects include a research and evaluation project for Chicago's public transport stations, the planning for China's new Xi'An train station and a new design for the Bin Darwish Tower in Saudi Arabia.[19]
  • Participated in the reconstruction of Beirut Port, where an architectural tender was organized in the form of an architectural award looking for ways to find new architectural solutions to the city center, which was destroyed due to the massive explosion that previously caused strong damage to the oldest port in the region.[20]

His role in solving the problem of pilgrims in Mina:

He chaired a design competition and challenge to present a vision for a standard solution for housing pilgrims in the city of Mina, with a stay period of 6 days of air-cooled, cost-effective, fire-resistant, and healthy living.[26] The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has organized a distinguished group of regional plans led by Prince Mohammed bin Salman,[27] and these plans are the inspiration for this competition organized by Ibrahim Nawaf Joharji, as he saw through this competition the opportunity to develop the architectural approach in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Mecca Al-Mukarramah, his birthplace, in an attempt to find solutions that serve the city in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.[28]
