Draft:Ghatal Master Plan

Ghatal Master Plan is a comprehensive plan aimed at preventing flooding in Ghatal (Chandrakona II, Chandrakona I, Ghatal (community development block), Daspur I, Daspur II, Keshpur.) and its surroundings in the districts of Paschim Medinipur & Purba Medinipur.The plan requires a total funding of ₹1500 crore, with ₹500 crore allocated in the recent budget.

The masterplan is part of the West Bengal government's efforts to mitigate natural calamities, boost livelihoods, and strengthen infrastucture in river-dependent regions, it's being implemented alongside the "Nodi Bandhan" scheme, which focuses on riverine development and preventing erosion along the Ganga.

The MP of Ghatal Dev has said, he as the MP of Ghatal and a person from Ghatal was eagerly waiting for this to be happened.
