Dupree Koual (born May 8, 1978) is a Cameroonian actor, singer, talent manager, and broadcaster.

Early Life and Education

Dupree Koual was born on May 8, 1978, in Cameroon. He is the tenth of eleven children. His father, David Koual, was a mechanical engineer, and his mother, Emilienne Nguè, worked as an interior decorator and designer. Koual spent his childhood in both Cameroon and Nigeria, where he was introduced to music and acting by his elder brother, a musician.[1]

He pursued training in performing arts at the New York Film Academy (NYFA), where he completed a master class in acting. He also studied body language and voice-over techniques at Raindance Film School in London and attended the National Institute of Fine Arts (NIFA) in Mumbai, India.[1]

Acting Career

Koual began his acting career at the age of 15 with the French film Les Dreamers, directed by Emmanuel Nkuate. He gained recognition in 2011 for his role in Les Veuves Volontaires, directed by Alphonse Beni. From 2016 to 2019, he portrayed the character Emmanuel in the television series Bad Angel, which aired for six seasons and spanned 312 episodes.[1]

In addition to television, Koual appeared in short films such as Run (2019), where he played Bobby, and Stripped (2022).[2]

Music Career

Koual has been active in the music industry since the late 1990s. He gained initial recognition by winning a rap competition organized by British American Tobacco in 1997. As a member of the group "West Hill," he released several singles, including Fallen Soldier (2007), Say My Name (2008), and Remember the Time (2010).[2]
