Daniel E. White. is an American government official currently serving as a deputy assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security.[1]
Early Life and Education
[edit]White earned a bachelor of science and army commission from the United States Military Academy in 2012.[2] Subsequently, he served as a field artillery officer, including a deployment in support of Operation Spartan Shield. After separating from active duty in 2018, he earned a graduate degree from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.[3] He is the younger bother of David E. White Jr..[4]
Career
[edit]After graduation, White joined the Department of Defense as a civil servant working for the Department of the Air Force.[5]
Biden Adminstration
[edit]White joined the Biden administration as the special assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy, Plans, and Capabilities.[6][7] He was then the chief of staff to the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Manpower and Reserve Affairs). Later he was deputy chief of staff to the Secretary of the Army.[8] White was appointed as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Strategic Integration & Policy Planning at the Department of Homeland Security in May of 2024.[9]
