[edit]Grattan began his competitive coaching career with Skip Jamie Murphy, coaching the team to two provincial junior titles and representing New Brunswick at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 2001 and 2002[2]. Also in 2002, Grattan was asked to coach the New Brunswick Tankard championship team, skipped by Russ Howard[3] which had brother James Grattan throwing third. Together with his brother Dean Grattan coached at seven more Briers[4][5][6][7]. At the 2024[8] and 2025[9] Montana's Brier, it became a family affair as Grattan coached his brother James and his nephew Drew Grattan (James' son) who was the alternate on the team.[10][11]
