On January 23, 2025, Donald Trump, President of the United States, signed an executive order aimed at promoting cryptocurrencies and creating a national reserve of digital assets. This executive order was an important step in the recognition and regulation of cryptocurrencies at the state level. Along with this event, Gary Gensler, Chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), was forced to resign. According to the general opinion and mood of the crypto community, he was the only person who was hindering the development of the crypto industry. The first mention of Cryptocurrency Recognition Day appeared on the website of Kary Kanzler Securities, the creators of the memecoin of the same name, which was created to commemorate this day.
