Cruz Mora (born June 8, 1999) is an American policy analyst and politician from Live Oak, California, affiliated with the Democratic Party. He is known for his advocacy during the 2024 Live Oak Water Crisis.




Early Life and Education

Cruz Mora was born on June 8, 1999 in Live Oak, California, to Mexican immigrant parents. Raised by his single mother alongside four older sisters, Mora graduated from Live Oak High School, where he served as Key Club president.[1] He earned a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Chico State University.

2020 Live Oak CIty Council Election

In 2020 Mora finished six out of seven where only the top two were elected. Mora receiving 9.88% of the vote.[2]

2024 Live Oak Water Crisis

In November 2024, Live Oak officials detected per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the city’s Well 2A, exceeding safety levels. Mora publicly advocated for immediate shutdown and mitigation measures to ensure water safety.[6] Mora's vocal stance brought regional attention to the issue, earning him recognition as a community advocate.[7]
