Cory Banika is a Canadian amateur scout currently working for the National Hockey League (NHL) team Utah Hockey Club. Over his career, Banika has scouted for several NHL teams and has gained a reputation for his work in identifying talent for professional hockey clubs.

Scouting Career

Banika’s scouting career spans more than a decade, during which he has worked for several NHL organizations. He began his scouting career with the St. Louis Blues, followed by stints with the Buffalo Sabres and the Arizona Coyotes. In recent years, he transitioned to the Utah Hockey Club after the franchise was purchased by Ryan and Ashley Smith and moved from Arizona to Utah.

Banika had a notable playing career, spending time in several leagues across North America. He is best known for his time with the Oshawa Generals, where he won the Memorial Cup in 1990. Over his playing career, Banika played for multiple teams, including several in the American Hockey League (AHL) and East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
