Balutola
is a village situated in the south corner of Saharsa district in the north Indian state of Bihar.The ancient temple of Baba Raghuni Maharaj is situated in this village.
Balutola is part of Simri Bakhtiyarpur Block and khagaria Loksabha constituency. Some of the neighbouring places include Saharsa (15 km north), Simri, Bhoraha (2 km east), Simri Bakhtiyarpur (4 km south) and Balhampur(1 km West). Balutola is come under Raipura Panchayat.[3]

[edit]Balutola is well connected through different parts of India, both air and road transport.National Highway 231 passes from 1 km west which connect Saharsa, Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Sonbarsa Raj, Mahesh khunt, Purnia and Madhepura. Balutola nearest station (Halt) is Baba Raghuni Halt Dwarika and Saharsa junction. which is 15 km from Balutola.Nearest airport is Darbhanga Airport, which is 103 km from Balutola.
History
[edit]The history of Balutola village dates back centuries and is deeply intertwined with local folklore and spiritual significance. According to local tradition, the village is historically significant due to its association with Baba Raghuni Maharaj, a revered saint who is believed to have visited the area long ago.
In honor of Baba Raghu is Maharaj and his profound connection to Balutola, a memorial was established at the site, known as Baba Raghuni Sthan. Over time, this site has grown in significance and is now a popular place of pilgrimage and reverence. Devotees from near and far visit Baba Raghuni Sthan to pay their respects, offering prayers and seeking blessings.
Due to this the nearby station got the name Baba Raghuni Halt Dwarika[4]
