Anwar Hadid (born June 22, 1999) is an American model and musician.[1]
Early life
[edit]Hadid was born June 22, 1999, to American real estate developer Mohamed Hadid and Dutch-American television personality Yolanda Hadid.[2] He is the youngest of the couple's three children and his older sisters are models Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid. Marielle Hadid and Alana Hadid are his half-sisters. Hadid was raised in Los Angeles.[2] and attended Malibu High School.[3]
Career

[edit]In 2015, Anwar first appeared in Nylon Magazine.[4] He signed with IMG Models in February 2016. and was then featured on the cover of TeenVogue alongside Cameron Dallas.[5] In April 2016, he was featured in Paper Magazine. In that same year he did his first runway at the Moschino Resort Show.
In 2017, Anwar was announced as the face of Hugo Boss Menswear and in the same year was the face of the Zadig & Voltaire spring summer campaign with his sister Bella Hadid.[6]
Music
[edit]In 2019, he released his first album titled "Bleach". The album consisted of 17 songs. It featured Jaden Smith on the track "If You Wanna Stay."
Hadid then released a music video for the track "Progression 101." It was filmed by Vin Arfuso and shot in Palestine.[7]
He now is a part of the band Oswald. They have one album, six singles/EPs, and were featured on an album with SinceWhen and on another album with Black Man Lab.[7]
Companies
[edit]Anwar has launched a unisex jewelry brand called Martyre with rapper Yoni Laham. 50% of the profits from the brand are given to charity benefitting children's education access and literacy.[8]
Activism
[edit]The Hadid family is known for their support of Palestine and showing their support for Muslim traditions.[9]
Hadid worked as a co-producer with Roger Waters and Kweku Mandela on a documentary titled "Walled Off" by Vin Arfuso. The film followed individual Palestinians highlighting their struggle for freedom.[10]
He regularly offers his political opinions on social media, specifically on Instagram and the "stories" feature.[11]
Personal life
[edit]In 2018, he briefly dated Kendall Jenner. In 2019, he began dating Dua Lipa, a relationship that lasted until late 2021.[12] Anwar also appeared in eight episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, because his mother was a cast member.
Like his mother and sister Bella, Anwar also contracted Lyme disease in 2013.[13]
