Early life
[edit]Ekpunobi was born on June 16, 2000, in Los Angeles, California. She spent her early life in Nigeria with her mother after her father left her when she was 6. Ekpunobi was previously identified as leftist,[3] due of being taught a left-wing ideology. During this time, she began questioning the idea of systemic racism in America, and she now considered herself conservative.
Career
[edit]PragerU (2021–2023)
[edit]In January 2022, Ekpunobi signed with PragerU to start a new podcast called Unapologetic with Amala. With the show, she sets it up as she's sharing her opinions and making statements about pushing back against liberal ideals while reading comments from the left.[4] Ekpunobi has spoken at college campuses in the U.S.[5]
She was blacklisted from TikTok, after it banned her account permanently because of many violations of their community standards.
Passionately sharing her new conservative values online[6], Ekpunobi became a social media sensation, inspired millions of young people every day to discover the truth, defend their values, and lead better lives.[7] She departed from PragerU on September 8, 2023.[8]
Post–PragerU career
[edit]Following the exit from PragerU, Ekpunobi referred her subscribers to her YouTube channel[9]. She gained a large following on YouTube, as well as on social media, especially Instagram.
