Aleksandre Topuria (Georgian: ალექსანდრე თოფურია[citation needed], born 28 January 1996) is a Georgian mixed martial artist who currently fights as a bantamweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Background

Aleksandre Topuria was born to Georgian parents in Halle, Germany. They were refugees from the Russian-occupied Georgian region of Abkhazia.[3]

On August 8, 2024, it was announced that Topuria had signed with Ultimate Fighting Championship.[4]

In his UFC debut, Topuria was scheduled to face Cody Haddon on February 9, 2025, at UFC 312.[5] However, Haddon withdrew from the fight due to a foot injury and was replaced by fellow newcomer Colby Thicknesse.[6] He won the fight via unanimous decision.[7]

Personal life

Aleksandre has a younger brother, Ilia Topuria[2][8] , who is also a professional mixed martial artist and the current UFC Featherweight Champion[9]
