Mian Mobeen Akhtar (born 26 October 1976 in Burewala, Pakistan) is a prominent Pakistani social activist and legal advisor based in Berlin, Germany. He is known for his advocacy for overseas Pakistanis in Europe and his work across various fields, including legal aid, community support, and diplomatic representation.
Life
[edit]Mian Mobeen Akhtar was born in Burewala, Pakistan, and later moved to Berlin, Germany. He has been active in addressing issues faced by the Pakistani community in Europe, particularly with respect to legal aid and community development.
Career and Advocacy
[edit]Akhtar has served as the focal person at the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and HRD since April 2023, working to resolve issues faced by Pakistanis living in Europe. He is also the President of Grand Overseas Club (since 2022) and has been a part of the Justice Helpline as the EU Ambassador since January 2020[1], where he advocates for legal aid and justice for the overseas Pakistani community. Additionally, Akhtar is the Bureau Chief for Diplomatic Focus in Europe (since 2006) and serves as the Director at SK ZOON Pvt. Ltd., a design and construction company in Islamabad (since 2016).
From 2014 to 2018, he held the position of President of the Pakistan Peoples Party in Berlin, where he worked to improve the political and social integration of Pakistanis in the region. He has also worked with the Overseas Group of Companies between 1993 and 1999.
Education
[edit]Akhtar completed his studies at various institutions, including Burewala and H9 Boys College in Islamabad. He graduated in 1994 and later attended the Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad.
Recognition
