History
[edit]Aakash Baskaran set up the Chennai-based film production house Dawn Pictures in 2024, before moving on to co-produce the Dhanush-directorial Idly Kadai (2025), along with Wunderbar Films, which also stars Dhanush, alongside Nithya Menen, Shalini Pandey, Arun Vijay and Prakash Raj.[3]
He subsequently went on to work on higher-profile projects, notably beginning with Sudha Kongara's SK25 featuring Sivakarthikeyan, Jayam Ravi, Atharvaa and Sreeleela.[4][5] Made on a production budget of ₹150 crore (US$18 million)–₹250 crore (US$30 million),[6][7] it is the dropped project of Suriya and Sudha known as Suriya 43, which would have marked their reunion after Soorarai Pottru (2020) and featured Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Nazim and Vijay Varma alongside Suriya.[8][9]
