Too many towns

[edit]

According to David Miliband, writing in the Local Government Chronicle dated December 1, 2005, Norfolk has 21 market towns. As Minister of State for Communities and Local Government, he ought to have the right figures at his finger-tips. Trouble is, we have 28 towns listed here. My guess is that there has been some boosterism going on, with local contributors claiming town status for places without the proper charters.

Anybody have any thoughts about how we can sort the wheat from the chaff?. -- Chris j wood 16:21, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest by starting by making a list of all the places with Town Councils. Morwen - Talk 12:40, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
