Stubs no longer categorized with the WP:SORTKEY μ

[edit]

In this category's wikitext is the following category information, making this category a sub-category of the following:

For this new section, I was originally going to use the subject: "Why categorize this under μ?" Fortunately I found Wikipedia:Categorization § Sort keys (WP:SORTKEY) while wikilinking. Point #11 says in part:

Several Greek letters are also used for specific purposes.
 • "Σ" (capital sigma) is used to place stub categories at the end of subcategory lists. ("µ" (mu) was previously used, but the capital version "Μ" was confusing.)

So, I'm going to change the 3 of the 4 categories' sort keys from mu to capital sigma, and I'm leaving the 4th one for someone else to consider changing or not, since it wasn't....mu'ed. [Update: Category:Ethnic group stubs only has 10 subcategories, and none of them are sorted into an alphabetical TOC, so IMO all 4 categories are fine as they are now. —Geekdiva (talk) 07:47, 31 July 2017 (UTC)][reply]

Since I'd already typed most of this up as I was researching it, I'm leaving this here to explain why to others who might be unaware of this, too. Hope this helps someone! —Geekdiva (talk) 07:34, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
