Well, the blue box said to reduce the entries and if you do that enough then none are left. The creation of Category:IBM products would seem to have made this category redundant; there is no obvious function left for IBM hardware (it wasn't a subcategory of anything other that IBM products) and IBM products even now has only a few entries.
There are some subcategories that would be useful.
"IBM medical products" as a subcategory of IBM products "IBM communication devices" as a subcategory of IBM computers

- The "blue box" probably refers to Template:Category diffuse, which is an instruction to move all or most pages to a category's subcategories, not to move all the pages to a category tree whose root starts from a category that's higher than or on the same level as the current category. Category:IBM products does not obsolete the purpose of Category:IBM hardware any more than it does Category:IBM software, which wasn't affected by the creation of the IBM products category.
