suggestion of case

[edit]

I don't know if it belongs on this page, or on another page, but wikipedia needs to add a reference to the Getty Images suit regarding the album cover of Fatboy Slim's "Halfway between the Gutter and the Stars". Details here: http://www.allbusiness.com/retail-trade/miscellaneous-retail-retail-stores-not/4450502-1.html 64.134.226.84 (talk) 23:44, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Most cases won't make it to Wikipedia, unless they're notable for their effect on the law, culture, the parties, or in some other way . This particular case never went to court, but settled, so it's not going to have had a significant effect on the law. According to this article, the case settled for $25k in 2002, so it doesn't seem like it made a significant financial impact on anybody. So, from my perspective (as a copyright lawyer / wikipedian), this is not a particularly notable case. If someone involved in those industries can demonstrate notability of the case in ways other than legally, go for it. --Lquilter (talk) 18:59, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
