From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Benjamin Kofi Quashie is the National Democratic Congress Council of Elders chair for South Africa.[1] He is also founder and executive chairman of the BKQ Foundation which is into the provision of relief services to persons living particularly in deprived communities in Ghana.[2]

Benjamin is a strong critique of the previous Nana Akufo-Addo's government particularly in the fight against illegal mining, popularly known in Ghana as galamsey. He has often held the view that the former President has failed in the quest to stopping galamsey asserting the phenomenon has no place in President Mahama's government.[citation needed]
