The Raid on Caesarea occurred in 1067 when the Seljuk Turks under Alp Arslan and Afshin Bey attacked Caesarea.[1] Caesarea was sacked and its Cathedral of St. Basil desecrated.[2] This provoked Romanos IV Diogenes' first campaign in 1068.[3]
