Barclayopsis urceolata is a fossil species of the family Nymphaeaceae[2] from the Maastrichtian[1][3] and Paleocene[3][4] of Eisleben, Germany.[5]
Description
[edit]The oval to rounded, 2–3 mm wide seed has a up to 0.15 mm thick,[6] two-layered testa.[6][7]
Taxonomy
[edit]It was published by Ervin Knobloch and Dieter Hans Mai in 1984.[2][6]
Etymology
[edit]The specific epithet urceolata means urceolate, or jug-shaped.[8]
