Baleia! Baleia!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Baleia! Baleia! is a 1971 British documentary short film directed by David Tomblin that received a wide theatrical release.[1]

According to editor Teddy Darvas the film started with "twenty thousand feet that was shot for a film that was never made that Leslie Norman had shot" about fishing in the Azores for EMI Films. The movie was not completed and John Hargreaves of EMI Films asked Darvas if he could make a short film out of it. Darvas did this and the short film was released with The Go Between and was very successful.[1]

Darvas' assistant was David Gowing who also wrote the commentary.[1]
