Austin Hill[1] is an American professional auto racing driver. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen.
Racing career
[edit]Early career
[edit]Hill began racing Quarter midgets at seven years old.[2]
Junior formulae
[edit]In 2021, Hill made his debut in the SCCA Pro Series Formula Race Promotions, racing in the F2000 and Atlantic series for his family-owned team. In F2000, he won two races and ended the season runner-up in points to Trent Walko.[3] In Atlantic, he won the Restricted Spec championship.[4]
In 2022, Hill returned to the SCCA Pro Series championships, racing once again in both the F2000 and Atlantic series. In F2000, he won twice and finished runner-up in the standings to JC Trahan.[5] In Atlantic, he won all but four races en route to the Open Class title.[6]
Returning to the Atlantic series for 2023, Hill took six wins and 12 podiums on his way to his second consecutive title.[7]
In parallel to his SCCA commitments, Hill also raced in the Formula Regional Americas Championship for his family-owned team.[8]
Trans-Am Series
[edit]During 2023, Hill also raced in the XGT class of the Trans-Am Series, making his series debut at Road Atlanta.[9] In his only race in the series, Hill retired after nine laps and was classified fifth in class.[10] He finished seventh in the XGT standings.[11]
SCCA Hoosier Super Tour
[edit]In 2024, Hill competed in the SCCA Hoosier Super Tour in both the STL and SMX classes.[12] In the former, he finished runner-up to Danny Steyn, while in the latter he finished 14th in the standings.[13]
NASCAR Xfinity Series
[edit]A month after obtaining his NASCAR license,[14] On February 25, 2025, it was announced that Hill would compete on a part-time basis in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen, starting at Watkins Glen.[15]
Personal life
[edit]Despite sharing a name, Hill is not related to the Georgia-born driver, Austin Hill.[15]
