The 2024–25 Stanford Cardinal women's basketball team represent Stanford University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Cardinal are led by first-year head coach Kate Paye and play their home games at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, California. They compete as first year members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.[1]

Previous season

The Cardinal the season at 30–6, 15–3 in Pac-12 play to win the regular season championship. As a No. 1 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament, they defeated California in the quarterfinals and Oregon State in the semifinals before losing to USC in the championship. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 2 seed in the Portland regional 4 bracket where they defeated Norfolk State and Iowa State in the first and second rounds before losing to NC State in the Sweet Sixteen.

After the season's conclusion, VanDerveer announced her retirement, making this her 38th and final season as Stanford head coach. This was also the team's final season in the Pac-12, as they will move to the Atlantic Coast Conference beginning on August 1, 2024.[2]
