ZIP code list

[edit]

There are many places in Wisconsin with zip codes that do not have articles in Wikipedia; I would assume that these are unincorporated areas not seperated out by the Census. I just completed the listing at List of ZIP Codes in Wisconsin; I'd encourage anyone living near one of these redlinks to write a little blurb about it. Cheers. --BaronLarf 19:07, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

I'll take up the gauntlet on the 547's. I've already written Downsville (several months ago). I also got rid of the redlink for Gilmantown, Wisconsin, since the name is actually Gilmanton, Wisconsin. I don't know if you misread your source or if the source was mistyped...but fixing that one was easy. Eau Galle, Wisconsin is actually a disambig, so I put in the correct Eau Galle's page (it's the one in Dunn County, although nobody from far away would have any way of knowing that unless they studied the codes and realized that the one in St. Croix Co. is in the 540- zip codes. I can't, for the life of me, imagine why they used 54774 for Chippewa's 2nd zip code (the first one is 54729). It completely messes up the alphabetical scheme. There's no way Eau Claire is EVER going to use all of the zip codes between 54704-19. I'd have gone with 54715, but then again, maybe that's why I'm unemployed and postal workers go on shooting sprees. Your tax dollars at work. Anyways, good work BarLar, on fully populating the list. Why are there no villages or towns listed?
