"Stub template"

[edit]

Hi all - I have renamed the {{PHHfooter-stub}} used at Portal:Hamburg to {{PHHstubfooter}}. The template was not part of the Wikipedia-wide stub template scheme,. so should not have had a name ending in "-stub" (even if it had been, the name suggested it would be used for stubs on the subject of "PHHfooter"). Please, as stated at Wikipedia: WikiProject Germany/Hamburg task force, do not create stub templates without first proposing them at WP:WSS/P. Grutness...wha? 00:20, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, my fault, thanks for fixing. Sebastian scha. (talk) 09:55, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A monthly traffic report for the B-class articles is soon found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Germany/Hamburg task force/Popular pages Sebastian scha. (talk) 13:18, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pageview stats

[edit]

After a recent request, I added WikiProject Germany/Hamburg task force to the list of projects to compile monthly pageview stats for. The data is the same used by http://stats.grok.se/en/ but the program is different, and includes the aggregate views from all redirects to each page. The stats are at Wikipedia:WikiProject Germany/Hamburg task force/Popular pages.

The page will be updated monthly with new data. The edits aren't marked as bot edits, so they will show up in watchlists. You can view more results, request a new project be added to the list, or request a configuration change for this project using the toolserver tool. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know. Thanks! Mr.Z-man 01:03, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WP 1.0 bot announcement

[edit]

This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Additional information is available at the WP 1.0 project homepage. — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:23, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hamburg districts maps

[edit]

Is there a reason why that Hamburg districts such as Harburg are using maps of Germany instead of maps of Hamburg? Kingjeff (talk) 15:02, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hamburger Abendblatt suscribtion

[edit]

Just wondering if any of you have a suscribtion to the Hamburger Abendblatt. Apparently thats needed to access their archive. I'm wishing to read an article (Graf verurteilt) in the archive in regards to the Rainer Rene Graf Adelmann von Adelmannsfelden article. If anybody with a suscribtion could help out and email me the contend, that would be great! Calistemon (talk) 03:41, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hamburg trip

[edit]

I will be in Hamburg next week, is there anything in particular that I can do there that would help here (e.g., photos, literature)? You can write on my talk page too. I will also be in the area north of Hamburg. --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 15:27, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a camera, then maybe you might want to look at Hamburg-related articles and see which articles needs a photo. Kingjeff (talk) 17:53, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea, but I'm not sure I have time to do that by myself. Care to help? Anyone have anything specific they'd like to suggest? --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 19:30, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It just occurred to me, how would it look if airport officials found a list of sites in my baggage for the missing article photos? It could look awfully suspicious. I'll have to think about this. --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 20:21, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If time is an issue, then you're only looking at a small list. I'm sure you would be able to remember a small list without writing out a list. Kingjeff (talk) 22:18, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Did you actually read what I said? --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 19:17, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
User:Russavia is looking for a picture of the Russian consulate (Street View), and the de:Mineralogisches Museum Hamburg is also in need of a photo (Street View), see de:Portal:Hamburg#Bilderwünsche. --Gnom (talk) 17:37, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I don't see much helpful feedback here. Seems the little that was said, is basically asking me to do all the work including looking where photos are needed. This trip is a vacation, but I thought I might do a little to help this project while there to the extent that I can; if people would jump in and provide specifics. Maybe we have someone on the project who lives in Hamburg so this isn't such a useful thing. I'm leaving in two days, so I probably won't worry about this. --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 19:24, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't expect you to spend all of your time taking photos for Wikipedia. I was saying that you wouldn't need a list because you're free time is minimal and you wouldn't need to be concerned about the airports. If you want a suggestion, if you go by Millerntor-Stadion, you might want to take a couple of close-ups from outside the stadium. Kingjeff (talk) 19:44, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Er, sorry, didnt I just give you two super specific buildings that need pictures? I'm confused. By the way, if you need some hints for your stay, just let me know. I live here^^ --Gnom (talk) 20:08, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you live there, then you have tons of time to take photos. Why am I bothering, you should have spoken up to begin with. I'm going with family to visit family. I was just trying to help. I didn't realize we had a Hamburger amongst us?  ;) I'm going to be about 30 min NW at an undisclosed location. --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 02:05, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well you asked, I answered. There are a few dozen Wikipedians in Hamburg, and nearly all of them are active on both the English and German Wikipedias. --Gnom (talk) 17:47, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Back, lots of snow and very cold. Some days it was -4C. I didn't hardly touch my list, just wasn't in the cards, but any useful photos I have I will upload and make available. --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 13:14, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good, I hope you still enjoyed your stay! This is the coldest December we've had in 40 years. --Gnom (talk) 17:15, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

As of January, the popular pages tool has moved from the Toolserver to Wikimedia Tool Labs. The code has changed significantly from the Toolserver version, but users should notice few differences. Please take a moment to look over your project's list for any anomalies, such as pages that you expect to see that are missing or pages that seem to have more views than expected. Note that unlike other tools, this tool aggregates all views from redirects, which means it will typically have higher numbers. (For January 2014 specifically, 35 hours of data is missing from the WMF data, which was approximated from other dates. For most articles, this should yield a more accurate number. However, a few articles, like ones featured on the Main Page, may be off).

Web tools, to replace the ones at tools:~alexz/pop, will become available over the next few weeks at toollabs:popularpages. All of the historical data (back to July 2009 for some projects) has been copied over. The tool to view historical data is currently partially available (assessment data and a few projects may not be available at the moment). The tool to add new projects to the bot's list is also available now (editing the configuration of current projects coming soon). Unlike the previous tool, all changes will be effective immediately. OAuth is used to authenticate users, allowing only regular users to make changes to prevent abuse. A visible history of configuration additions and changes is coming soon. Once tools become fully available, their toolserver versions will redirect to Labs.

If you have any questions, want to report any bugs, or there are any features you would like to see that aren't currently available on the Toolserver tools, see the updated FAQ or contact me on my talk page. Mr.Z-bot (talk) (for Mr.Z-man) 05:08, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

We – Community Tech – are happy to announce that the Popular pages bot is back up-and-running (after a one year hiatus)! You're receiving this message because your WikiProject or task force is signed up to receive the popular pages report. Every month, Community Tech bot will post at Wikipedia:WikiProject Germany/Hamburg task force/Popular pages with a list of the most-viewed pages over the previous month that are within the scope of WikiProject Germany.

We've made some enhancements to the original report. Here's what's new:

  • The pageview data includes both desktop and mobile data.
  • The report will include a link to the pageviews tool for each article, to dig deeper into any surprises or anomalies.
  • The report will include the total pageviews for the entire project (including redirects).

We're grateful to Mr.Z-man for his original Mr.Z-bot, and we wish his bot a happy robot retirement. Just as before, we hope the popular pages reports will aid you in understanding the reach of WikiProject Germany, and what articles may be deserving of more attention. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at m:User talk:Community Tech bot.

Warm regards, the Community Tech Team 17:16, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

Translation for Otto Group article?

[edit]

Dear Wikipedia-contributors, we're the communications team of the Otto Group and we're wondering if it is possible for us to improve the quality of the English Otto Group article by preparing/uploading a translation of the German article (http://de.wiki.x.io/wiki/Otto_Group)? The English article is currently listed as a stub. Looking forward to your feedback, best regards! (Otto Group (talk) 15:15, 17 April 2019 (UTC))[reply]

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

[edit]

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
