"A Rugrats Kwanzaa" is a television special from the American animated series Rugrats, first broadcast on December 11, 2001. It was one of the first mainstream television shows to feature the holiday Kwanzaa (kinara and candles depicted). In the episode, the toddler Susie Carmichael and her friends – Tommy Pickles, Chuckie and Kimi Finster, and Phil and Lil DeVille – learn about the holiday during a visit from her great-aunt. Anthony Bell directed the episode from a script by Lisa D. Hall, Jill Gorey, and Barbara Herndon. "A Rugrats Kwanzaa" was praised by critics for its representation of the holiday and the voice acting; there was a mixed response to its commercialism. Cree Summer, who voices Susie, earned a nomination for a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Performance by a Youth at the 34th NAACP Image Awards for her role in the episode. A picture book entitled The Rugrats' First Kwanzaa was adapted from the script. (Full article...)
Just a suggested blurb ... thoughts and edits are welcome. - Dank (push to talk) 04:33, 14 October 2019 (UTC)

- Small tweak, to add her friends. We can link them all if you like, but we don't usually have a lot of links to the same page at TFA. - Dank (push to talk) 20:30, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
- Good point. Since Tommy Pickles is the only character with a separate page in the blurb, then it makes sense for that to be the only one linked in that list. Aoba47 (talk) 20:43, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

@Dank: Quick question. Since the image is not used in the article, should it be used in the blurb? Aoba47 (talk) 19:19, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- Is there an alternative? We can only use free images on the Main Page. - Dank (push to talk) 20:18, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, there is not a free alternative for anything already mentioned in the lead. I'm a little surprised that Cree Sumer does not have a free image given her popularity and career as a voice actor (and an actress). I do not have a problem with the image being used in the blurb, but I was just curious about it. The article currently uses a free image of one of the guest voice actors (Kevin Michael Richardson), but I cannot see how he could be worked into the blurb without it being slightly awkward. The episode does include a fictional representation of Martin Luther King Jr. so I could swap out the current image for one of King, but I am also uncertain of how it could be incorporated into the lead. Let me know what you think. Aoba47 (talk) 20:52, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- The MLK angle seemed too tangential for the blurb to me. Pinging David Levy ... does the image above work for you? - Dank (push to talk) 20:54, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- I agree. Thank you for the response, and sorry for the trouble. Aoba47 (talk) 20:57, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- No trouble at all. - Dank (push to talk) 21:16, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- Dan and Aoba47: I suggest using File:Kwanzaa Candles-Kinara.svg, which evokes the concept of 2D drawings and displays well as a small thumbnail. —David Levy 12:41, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
