English Composition II is the second required general core course in college-level writing. Students are required to compose essays and a research paper that incorporates persuasive/argumentative writing methods.
Writing and developing communication skills must be viewed as a holistic task. Based on the 4 competencies of this course, students will produce essays that are well developed, communicate and argue ideas, beliefs or issues effectively and are grammatically correct. Though this may seem a list, writing is a merger of all the competencies to create the whole.
To further develop these skills, students will learn to develop their critical thinking skills, analyze and synthesize readings and respond effectively via their writing.
