An undergraduate course in the theory and production of digital writing, for English majors and Writing Studies minors.

In the first month of the course, students will produce Twine games, to introduce them to markup language.

Then, from weeks 5 - 15 (Feb 10 - May 4), students will produce their own Wikipedia pages, editing from stubs and/or (with WikiEdu support) writing new pages about areas of their own personal or academic interest. In preparation, they will complete all of the relevant WikiEdu training modules, evaluate existing Wikipedia pages, go through a proposal process, submit an evolving annotated bibliography several times, and undergo peer review.

Meanwhile, they will study Wikipedia (reading articles about its reliability, demographics, neutrality, etc., and writing short papers about their findings) and Internet language more generally (reading Gretchen McCullogh's Because Internet, among other things), conducting small class language surveys and experiments.

By the end of the day on Friday 4/17, you should have completed your "Moving work out of the sandbox" training, and your article should be in "near final draft" stage (i.e. ready for feedback from me, close to ready to move out of the sandbox).

If you've already moved your article out of your sandbox, please leave a note at the top of your sandbox page letting me know you've done so. That way, I'll know to look at the article on the wiki mainspace to give you feedback.

I'll leave feedback on the talk page for your sandbox article draft.
