Wikipedia:WikiProject Nonviolence
Description
[edit]This project will assist in creating, editing and improving articles involving nonviolence, the philosophy and strategy for social change that rejects the use of physical violence. These articles may include, but are not limited to: different nonviolent philosophies, strategies, actors, and actions. Yes, there exists already an Anti-war project, but that project focuses its attention on "any movement or ideology that opposes war in general or opposes specific wars or opposes the involvement of its country/government in war in general or specific wars." Nonviolence itself is not limited to anti-war activities. Nonviolent actions may involve non-war related social and political change within a nation, such as the Velvet Revolution, the Indian independence movement and the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Also, there may occasionally be violent actions taken in an anti-war movement. Therefore, the Anti-war project does not fulfill the needs of a Nonviolence project.
