Course Description

CT 203, Data Structures and Algorithms is the introductory programming course for second year (III semester) students, at College of Engineering, Pune. The course is offered to two classes: Computer Engineering and Information Technology. Each class has a strength of nearly 70 students, thus totalling nearly 140.

Assignments Overview

The Wikipedia based assignments are a substitute for the regular quizzes worth 20 marks. Students are required to work on Wikipedia page assigned to them. This section is only about the Wikipedia part of the course. (To be updated after discussion with Campus Ambassadors)

  • Get your Wikipedia page finalized by the instructor

  • Students to get assigned a campus ambassador and update this page with the name
  • Make first edits to your assigned pages
    • Write on talk pages of other students
  • Create your own sandbox.
  • Write a scheme of the things that you want to write on your page in the sandbox.
  • You may also edit some other pages (on any topic) on Wikipedia to get a feel of how things work.

    • Discuss your updates with the Mentor/Instructor
  • First few edits have been made to the wikipedia page assigned to you.

  • You should have edited your subject page to a considerable extent by now.
  • You should also have discussed issues on the topic's discussion page with other people in the world. You should be aware of the debatable points and discuss them with the instructor.

Oct 20th, 2011

  • Detailed study of the topic assigned should have been completed.
  • The topic's page should be taking complete shape by now. You should have made near complete edits to the page.

Nov 10th, 2011

  • Review the work of at least two other groups from your class.
    • Comment about the quality of work done on the topic's discussion page.
  • Finalize the changes to your Wikipedia Page. Mention the last edit on this page (deadline: Oct 25th 2011, 6 pm)
  • Open discussion with each group about their Wikipedia experience
