- Greetings. I am working on getting Piano Concerto No. 2 (Rachmaninoff) to featured status, and apart from text, images are of course important for the reader. Could someone remove the penned writings in the score (top left and lower center)? Thank you - Wretchskull (talk) 18:47, 25 March 2022 (UTC)Wretchskull (talk) 19:19, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

- Hello @Wretchskull: I have removed the handwriting and some of the dust particles from the scanned image however there seems to be what looks like a blank Post-it note on the left side obscuring the design. After a bit of Googling I found a colour version published by Great Russian Encyclopedia that might interest you.: [1] Hope this helps! Tsange (Talk) 15:33, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Tsange: Thank you so much! I have updated the request to address the new image. The fact that you did some digging for me means a lot!! Wretchskull (talk) 21:17, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

The Wheel of Time
* Copied from my talk page, as requested, as a courtesy Begoon 01:42, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
I'm an editor at the Hebrew Wikipedia, and I do not understand English at all. I adore "The Wheel of Time" and write mostly about it. I saw that you created File: Banner of Light.svg, so I'm turning to you please: I want drawings of the characters to put in their entries. There are currently no such drawings in the wiki, and other drawings have a copyright issue. ילד מסכן וחכם (talk) 22:37, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- @ילד מסכן וחכם - I'm sorry but for various reasons I'm not really contributing my time here at the moment. I'm afraid that sounds like more work than I'd be able to do right now. There also might be copyright/original research issues as you mention. You could ask at WP:GL/ILL to see if anyone there can help, or has any ideas. My apologies again. Begoon 01:20, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply, I will ask you to forward the request because I do not know English. Thanks again. ילד מסכן וחכם (talk) 01:23, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
- Hi ילד מסכן וחכם, I'm afraid that it might not be possible without violating copyright unless the authors or publishers release the work in a suitable licence or fill out an OTRS ticket. Cheers, cmɢʟee⎆τaʟκ 10:49, 3 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Cmglee, First of all thank you, I know there are copyright issues, which is why I asked Wikipedia painters to create "Wikipedia" drawings. (See that one of the characters has a drawing here) ילד מסכן וחכם (talk) 14:15, 3 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi ילד מסכן וחכם, My pleasure. IANAL, but I think that picture is OK as it doesn't uniquely identify the character. A drawing with a unique costume or insignia might be more problematic. See commons:Commons:Fan_art#Some_examples_from_the_fictional_Harry_Potter_universe for examples. Note that I don't wish to be a jobsworth: I just don't want editors to put in effort and time, only to be disappointed when their hard work is deleted, as happened with my drawing of Burj Khalifa. Cheers, cmɢʟee⎆τaʟκ 20:54, 3 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Cmglee,
- Thanks again.
- I did not understand you well (I use automatic translation).
- I was afraid to infringe on the painter's copyright, so I came here to have Wikipedia illustrators create a Wikipedia image. You made another point that I did not think of: "Does the copyright holder of the series also have a copyright (a derivative work) on a drawing of a character from the series? ילד מסכן וחכם (talk) 23:21, 3 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi ילד מסכן וחכם, No problem. Which part is unclear? Regarding your question, the artist also has copyright on the drawing. If you are the artist, that isn't an issue as the upload form makes you choose a compatible licence, but if you found the drawing from somewhere else, you have to satisfy both the artist's and the publisher's copyright. Cheers, cmɢʟee⎆τaʟκ 01:04, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Cmglee, Thanks again. The Hebrew Wikipedia has 5 entries about characters from the "Wheel of Time" (רנד אל'תור Rand al'Thor ;; מאט קוטון Mat Cauthon ;; פרין אייברה Perrin Aybara ;; אגווין אל'וור Egwene al'Vere ;; נינאב אל'מארה Nynaeve al'Meara), I am a fan of this series, and I want to attach drawings to these entries, I do not have such paintings, there are several such paintings on the net but they probably infringe copyright, so I asked you to create such images for Wikipedia. Here is a drawing of another character from the wheel of time, similar drawings are welcome. ילד מסכן וחכם (talk) 01:34, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

- @DeVos Max: Thank you for your inputs. Well, green are those countries where she performed her concerts, and blue the nations where Madonna visited them without performing a gig (for humanitarian causes, and etc). Also, just to let you known there is even, at least one countrie that she cancelled a visit: Slovenia but not sure if this is an important data (a third color). Blue was the first that come to my mind, but any other color or suggestion and improvement would be appreciated. Thanks again! --Apoxyomenus (talk) 15:27, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

- @TilmannR: This source says "The shade of blue was uniform throughout, being that used in the third quarter of the Royal Standard".
- The blue used in the Royal Standard is darker than it is in the svg file. So, all of the blue in the Duke's flag needs to be of that colour. Peter Ormond 💬 07:18, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

- Request
- Hi. Can someone please redo the SVG version of the Presidential Standard of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) to match the design features of the png version while keeping the png's version fringe? The version of the emblem on the flag is apparently "modified" from the official RSFSR emblem used as the time in that not only that it omits the red star (making it resemble the version of the emblem used from 1920 to 1954) but also (according to Rustycaddy17 who made the png version) apparently also other differences (Rustycaddy17 modified the 1920 version of the emblem for use in file). If the changes are sufficient enough to consider uploading as a separate file, you're kindly invited to do so. The flag itself was only ever seen in public once, when Boris Yeltsin was inaugurated of President of the RSFSR in Kremlin State Palace on July 10, 1991, five months before the Soviet Union was dissolved. Here are some websites showing photos and materials showing (or describing) the flag from that occasion http://visualrian.ru/ru/site/gallery/#422598 http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/su-ru.html https://www.pnp.ru/politics/parlamentskaya-gazeta-razyskala-poslednee-znamya-rsfsr.html https://yeltsin.ru/archive/photo/51574/ https://img.anews.com/media/gallery/90396949/343247463.jpg https://www.anews.com/p/90396949-foto-s-inauguracii-kak-izmenilsya-vladimir-putin/ https://www.prlib.ru/item/413621. It seems that according to the Flags Of The World page (the second link), a version of the flag with the emblem including the star was used as a "Banner" and may have had a separate function from the starless "Standard" so it's probably a good idea to also keep around the current vector version, (maybe uploaded separately with a different name?). Thanks in advance. --109.78.173.247 (talk) 22:28, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
- Do you mean the SVG version's fringe? Or are you requesting the SVG version with the updated design features AND no fringe? DeVos Max (talk) 04:45, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

- Might anyone be willing to improve this image? As we can see from numerous photos, there is more detail to this flag. File:Serhii Bubka and Petro Poroshenko - 2016-10-05 - 1.jpg provides an excellent high-res example of the detail added to the floral border and the darker outline of the trident symbol as well. Hi @Fry1989:, I've made an attempt at creating a more detailed version based upon the image you provided, hopefully its better. A gold outline has been added to the trident, the leaves have been redrawn and the triangle now has the correct number of circles Tsange (Talk) 16:32, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
